Sligo-Leitrim is back after being disbanded in 2007, and this time it has a good part of southern Donegal with it as well. The main story with this constituency was Fine Gael TD John Perry's court battle to contest the decision of his party's convention, in which he wasn't selected. On 22 December, a settlement was reached wherein Perry joined Tony McLoughlin and Gerry Reynolds on the Fine Gael ticket.

Sinn Féin TD Michael Colreavy is stepping down, but the party are running two new candidates in his place.
